favourable air situation
An air situation where dominance is limited in time and space. It is a lower degree of dominance that can be exercised with some degree of interference by the enemy air can be expected. In a favorable air situation there is sufficient dominance to permit exercise own capabilities effectively. The degree of dominance in a favorable air situation is lower than in air superiority and air supremacy. See also air supremacy and air superiority.
